Brake calipers are the parts of your car’s braking system that house your pistons and brake pads. By creating friction with your rotors, the calipers help slow your car’s wheels. They clamp on the rotor to stop the tires when you hit the brakes. Like the other parts of your braking system, wear and tear can occur due to the heat generated every time you step on the brakes. Having to pump the brakes for them to work or hearing unusual noises can be signs of a need to replace the calipers.
